BOARD MEEIING
Mr D. McGregor, jnr., occupied the chair at" last night's meeting of the Board of Management of the local Y.M.C A. There was several matters ot interest discussed and the secretary gave the membership as 2.63.
The introduction of cards into the Association caused a good deal of discussion, and it was unanimously resolved, without a single dissentient, "That in view of the fact that no other Y.M.C.A. throughout the Dominion admits cards into their building, and, further, in view of the impossibility of controlling the game, the tsoard think it inadvisable to sanction their admittance." Reporting on the work of a sub-corn-mittee, the Secretary spoke of the offer of a certain Society to advance £1,500, provided guarantors could be found. It whs decided that the whole natter and the financial situation be left for the Finance Committee in the meantime, when after due consideration by that Committee areport be presented to the larger body. The Secretary's in his report stated that not only had ninety new members been admitted but four other agencies had been got to work with promise of success—the Tennis Club, the Harriers Club, , two Life-saving Classes, and a Personal Workers' class—a class that would be a great help to the Association.
