RANGITIKEI ELECTION.
By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, September 13. Questioned by a reporter regarding the date fixed for the Rangitikei election, the Hon. T. Mackenzie said that the Government had not the slightest idea that it would clash with any local fixture. "But it 'seems to me," he added, "that in future the difficulty will be to fix. a date for any function without clashing with a race meeting, football match, or Government holiday. We ought perhaps to have a scale drawn up of a few days which may be regarded aB free from those fixtures."
