SIRES OF THE SEASON.
Breeders of Clydesdales will be pleased to hear that the services of the purebred sire "Break-o'-Day" will be available this season. This sire is by the champion Early Morning, a noted prizetaker, and who having secured first and champion at the Masterton Show when twenty-two years old. "Break o'Day" is a powerful horse with flat bone and plenty of hair. He is a fine tempered horse, and thoroughly staunch, having been in work all the winter. Stock left by this sire are proving themelves big money | drawers in the open market, and when broken in are splendid workers. A full pedigree will appear in Monday's issue. BRILLIANT BOY. At the recent sales of draught stock at Sydney a daughter of the celebrated mare Kate realised the handsome price of 410 guineas. This mare was bred by Mr W. F M. Buckley, of Hoon Bay, Christchurch, and is therefore h'alf-sister to Mr R. Falloon's draught sire Brilliant Boy, who was also bred hy Mr Buckley. Mr Buckley has had a most successful career as a breeder of draught stock, and at the sales referred to his entry of entires realised highly satisfactory prices. Brilliant Boy's sojourn in the Wairarapa has proved eminently satisfactory, and farmers are particularly satisfied with his progeny, so much so that already the owner, Mr R. Falloon, has had numerous requests for his services from former patrons. Brilliant Boy is announced to be at the service of breeders for the coming season.
