MANAWATU TOURNEY
CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY TARE A HA.
By Telegraph - Press Association. PALMEkSTON N., Sept. 9. The Manawatu Club's Golf Tournament was finished to-dav. in delightful weather. There was a large attendance of players. In the semi finals ot the Manawatu Championship. 0. H. Druce (.Manawatu) beat C. C. Cox (Masterton) ; 3up and 2to olay; Kurupu Tareaha (Napier) beat Burns (Auckland champion), 2 up and 2 to play. Tareaha went the round in 78. In the final Tareaha beat Druce 4, up and 3 to play. Tareaha cannot go to Auckland owing to private business, so will not patioipate in the New Zealand Championship this year. Most of the othara are goingito Auckland. In the Four Ball Handicap, fifteen holes, S. and M. Simcox (71 —13 —58) were first, and Louisson and Adams (75—1G—59), second. In the Handicap, 18 holes, C. C. Holmes (Masterton), (3, six up) was first, and W. H. Levin (10, five up) was second.
NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP MEE'IING.

Several of the Southern players who are competing in the Golf Championships, commencing next Monday, hav« arrived, and more are expected by the express to morrow morning. More than the usual amount of interest attaches to the Professional Championship, which will probably be contested by Clements, of Wanganui. the promising young player who now holds the open championship; F. Mood, of Auckland; D. Hood, of Christchurch; Watt, of Dunedin; McCormiqk, of Gisborne; and Martin, of Wellington.
