STOCK MARKET.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report on their fortnightly stock sale yesterday as follows:—The yarding in all stock was light, the rough weather prevailing accounting for this to a great extent. Sheep were confined to fat and store wethers and hoggets, all selling at recent rates. In cattle we submitted both ox and cow beef. These being only medium, the rate obtained would appear small, but up to value. Li dairy stock we offered both cows and heifei's of good quality, particularly in the case of two pen's of exceptionally well grown and forward sorts; these making tiie price of the season —viz., £6 1 per head. ' All rams sold excepting a few poor and backward sorts. Fat withers realised from 14s 6d to 15s; forward sorts 14s; store 13s to 13s 6d; small hoggets 8s; beef ox £6 15s or 20s 1001b; cows £4 or 16.* per 1001b; h'.'iters 80s; forward cows 60s; stores 40s to 50s; dairy cows £4 10s to £5: extra quality springing heifers £6.; others £5 7s 6d and £5; small £4 to £4 ss. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual fortnightly sale at their Masterton yards yesterday, when they submitted a fair yarding of sheep and cattle. Considering the wretched state of the weather, stock came forward exceedingly well; and we have to report practically a total clearance at satisfactory prices to vendors. They quote as follows:—Two and 4 tooth wethers 14s Id, 14s 6d and 14s 9d; culls of this line brought 13s 4d. Pigs : up to 235. 2-off steers £4 Is; 3 off steers up to £5 2s; 4yr steers backward condition £5 ss; empty cows £2 15s; speyed cows £3 17s; fat cows £4 17s 6d to £5 7s 6d: springing cows £4 to £4 ss; springing heifers £2 17s 6d to £3 12s 6d.
