' u By —Press§ Association. '• "GISBOKNE September 7, So far no trace has been found of the bodies of either of the two men drowned in the tributaries ot the Waihika River yesterday. Thomas Robinson was crossing Gold , Creek ford when his horse stumbled, v and the rider was thrown inta the water, being carried instantly into the flooded river—only two chains distant. * The second accident occurred at a small unbridged creek near the , Waihika homestead. Dudley McKenzie undertook to drive a cart across the ford when his diiver ex* pressed the opinion that it was unsafe to do so. The vehicle capsized, and he was swept into the river, forty yards away. The unfortunate man was weighted with an oilskin and gum boots, and had a poor chance to escape, as the stream was running with great velocity. McKenzie was atzed 25. With his brother he had occupied the Ototo grassing run, and with the prespnce of 500 men in the railway worKs in the vicinity he had worktd up a profitable business in supplying meat. He belonged jto a well known Hawke's Bay family.
