At the annual meeting of the Wellington Woollen Co. to-day, Mr Exley, Chairman of Directors, said that notwithstandng the severe financial depression and general contraction business enterprise throughout the Dominion, the volume of the company's business did not show a decline. Sales were slightly in excess of last year's. A more cheerful tone was already apparent, and with the moving of excessive retail stocks into consumption, more confidence in the forward outlook prevails in the trade The industry had passed thouirh five difficult years due prin cipally to market disturbance?, v hicti were uncontrollable, but not of a permanent character, and he believed a steadier and more normal condition in the woollen trade was approaching. The total liabilities had been reduced by £24,843, and stood at £42,510, with assist at £187,56!). The report recommended a dividend of 6 per cent., and wis adopted.
