THE PROGRESS OF MASTERTON.

SUCCESSFUL CANVASo. The committee appointed on Friday evening last to canvass the residents of Masterton to take up shares in the Wellington Farmers' Co-opeiative Meat Company experienced a most successful day on Saturday. Shares to the value of about £1,500 were subscribed, and the reception met with on every hand was of a most pleasant and inspiring character. It was found that every class in the community were deeply interested in the value of the movement from a public point of view, and a number of modest property holders were included among those subscribing shares. The canvass will be continued to dav and to-morrow.
