WARSHIP DAMAGED.
INCIDENT AT FRENCH MaNOEUVkES. Received September 2, 8.45 a.m; PARIS, September 1. During the practice of the French Northern Squadron off Quiberon, on the west coast of jjFrance, the cruiser Gloire, through an error in direction, fired six shells at the cruiser Marseillaise.
One of the shells pierced the hull of the Marseillaise, and exploded, but the damage caused was slight.
