DIVER AND A SHARK.

SENSATIONAL STORY. Received September 1, 10.10 a.m. BRISBANE, Sepember 1. A diver, working at the scene of the stranding of the Federal-Houlder-Shire liner Waipara, 5,505 tons, which struck a rock near Moreton Island, while voyaging to South African ports and London, had a sensational encounter with a shark. The brute attacked him, but he succeeded in ripping it open with a dagger. Other sharks surrounded the wounded one, and the diver ascended.
