Millerand, Minister for Public Works, interviewed at the close of aviation week at Rheims, said he was convinced there was a great future for aeroplanes, especially in regions where, as in South Algeria and Asia, roads are wanting for the transport of mails. He added that stations would be necessary t3 enable aeroplaniats to replenish their petrol supplies. At Rheims, Mr Henry Farman won the prize for the highest speed with passengers over ten kilometres. Mr Latham won the latitude prize reaching a height of 155 metres (510 feet); Mr Farman reaching 110 metres (350 feet), and Mr Paulham 80 metres (264 feet). Received August 31, 0.45 p.m. PAR-IS, August 31. Eight aviators at Rheims have offered to attend the projected aviation meeting at Blackpool in October. M. Bleriot and M.
