WANGANUI BAND CONTEST.

At a meeting of the committee appointed to make arrangements for , the North Island Brass Band Association's 1910 contest a sub-commit-tee reported that £7OO had been guaranteed by the local tradesmen. The following prize list was adopetd: —A grade, £IOO, £SO and £25; B grade, £SO, £25, £ls, £lO and £5; Quickstep, £4O, £2O and £10; grand total, £350. The question of inviting an Australian band to be present was discussed, but nothing definite was done. It was resolved that the Association be approached with a view to having the disqualification of the Wellington Garriaoti Band removed.
