A STEAMER WRECKED. FIVE PERSONS DROWNED. BRAVE TELEGRAPH OPERATOR. United Press .jssociation-By Electric Telegraph Cepyrigiit, Received August 30, 8,40 a.m. NEW YORK, August 29. The American steamer Ohio was wrecked at oteep Point, Alaska. Eccles, the wireless telegraph operator, was drowned with four others. He stuck to his post until' his room was flooded. The wireless .message sent by Eccles brought to the assistance of the Oiiio two steamers, which res cued passengersjand crew, to the number of 134.
