In the final for the Mauawatu Golf Championship, Miss Snodgrass (Westport) defeated Mrs Bevan (New Zealand champion) in the nineteenth green. Mrs Bevan was ordered by her doctor not to play, but she did so, and was continually short on the greens, which were wet from rain, but the golf was nevertheless excellent. Miss Snodgrass going up to forty only one over par, and finishing in 92, to Mrs Bevan's 93. Miss Gould (70-6-64) won the fourteen hole stroke handicap. Mrs Guy* Williams, in playing off in the bogey handicap, equalled Mrs Bevdn's new links record of 84. Miss Rattray, with 159 yards, won the driving competition, Miss Mill With 15H yards, being second.
The match between Masterton and Featherston Clubs will take place on the Lansdowne links, to-day, commencing at 1.30 p.m. sharp. The following will represent the Masterton team Messrs C. C. Cox A. B.
