The British Consul at Fez has protested against the cruelties inflicted by Mulai Hafid, Sultan of Morocco, on followers of the Pretender who have been captured and brought to Fez. The "Standard's" correspondent reports that Mulai Hafid ordered the right hand of each man and woman to be cut off,and the stumps plunged into boiling pitch. Two important prisoners were ordered to their right hands and right feet, and to have their teeth drawn. Another correspondent that one captive was ordered to have his lower jaw shattered with a blow from a hammer, another to have his eyes gouged, and a third to have the palm of his hand slashed, and then salted and sewn up in a leather flflove.
