Great (preparations are being made thiu afternoon at the Drill Hall for the wimuail social of St. Peter's Church, which will take place this evening. Mr G. F. Gelderd, Secretary of the local SLodge of Foresters, has held that position for over 21 years. The Lodge is indeed fortunate in securing such a capable secretary as Mr Gelderd. The funeral of Mr Sydney Lawrence, which took place this afternoon, way very largely attended. Mr H. Burnett has been appointed one of the Church wardens of the Holy Trinity Church, Woodviile, for the 23rd year in succession Quite a number of young i.-tmbs are to be seen all over this district, and as feed is fairly plentiful, both sheep and lambs are doing well. By the first of September the dairying/industry will be in full swing all • over the Bush district, and everyihitig points to a successful season.
