The Wimmera River at Jeparit, 248 miles north-east of Melbourne, is still rising. About fifty persons are homeless in the place. The town of Beulah, in the same district, is isolated. The inhabitants have constructed embankments for keeping water out of the town. The greater part of Kerang, on the Lodden River, is under water, owing to the levels breaking.
