"The Times," commenting on the debate on the Irish Land Bill says that in the three hours following the first fall of the guillotine the House was asked to legislate at the rate of five clauses an hour or one in twelve minutes. Received August 25, 9.5 p.m. LONDON, August 25. In the House of Commons the debate on the Irish Land Bill was continued. The most important clauses, including those empowering the State Commissioners to compulsorily acquire estates or untenaiiLd laid was carried under * the guillotire without discussion.
