Twenty business buildings were destroyed by a fire at Decatur, in the State of Illinois.
The value of the property destroyed ia estimated at a million dollars (£200,000).
BLAZE IN MEXICO CITY
Received August 24, 8.30 a.m. .' MEXICO, August 23. A fire in the business section of Mexico City did damage to the amount of a million and a half dollars (£300,0001.
OUTBREAK IN^LONDON. Received August 24, 8.40 am.. LONDON, August 23. A fire in a block of buildings between Cannon Street and Abchurch Lane seriously burnt forty offhes. Among other places destroyed was the New South Wales Government storeroom, containing records of immigration, circulars, and literature exhibits.
