In regard to Irish blight in potatoes, it waa decided to take immediate uniform action with a view to checking the spread of the disease. Careful investigation will be made, and infected areas will be quarantined. Only new bags or cases must be used in sending patatoes from one State to another. The conference decided that a Federal Bureau of Agriculture is at present unnecessary. Received Aguuat 24, 122.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Augus-t 23.
Efforts are being made to induce the Government to allow the importation of New Zealand potatoes bearing the Agricultural Department's stamp that they are free of disease.
