One of the exceptions is tne Flat Bush Road, wihch is in a dangerous state. Cul , verts that were burnt out two years ' ago have n*;t yet been replaced. i The recent flood was the heaviest 'experienced in this district for many years. Mr b. George had the misfortune to lose a valuable draught ' titalllon, the animal boing swept | awav and drowned while trying to ' sros3 the Hooded Te Hoe Riv«r. Mr i Alex Rutherford also lost ten big bullocks, and severul other settlers ; suffered more or less, • Bushfellers are va-y hard to get ' just at present. Mr Wm. Kebbell is offering: 500 acres to be felled, in lots to suit contractors but it is : doubtful if he will get the Lush down this year.
