Mark' 1 Church arrived here this afternooi by the 4.30 o'clock train, and thi work of installation will be com menced almost immediately. Mr L. Armstrong, of the clerica staff of thH Cross Creek railway station, has been transferred to Palmerston North, and left Cartertor thia morning. At a meeting of local body delegates, held here yesterday afternoon, it was decided that Dr. Frengley, Chief Health Officer, whc was present, should write to each o the local bodies interested in the retention of the district health officer, asking them to contribute proportionately to the retainment of such an officer. A few flakes of snow fell here thia evening.
