BALLANCE DAIRY COMPANY.
The following is the fourteenth annual report of tiid Directors of the BuJlance Dairy Company:—'Your Directors, in presenting their fourteenth annual report and balance sheet, have pleasure in congratulating shareholders on a very satisfactory season's operations. Early in the season we accepted what we considered a good offer for our output, a'li the price aversgtd by us is consirieraby above thoae obtained for consignments, and is a record ostein the history of the company. Our utpu|| too, has been a record one, and shows a marked increase, being some 71 tons more than in the previous year. Advances on butter fat during the season (lid for July and August, October and November, IOJd June and September to March inclusive, lOd April and May), average 10.56 d per lb, and out of the surplus available we propose to distribute to shareholders a further sum, bringin? the butter fat payments up to a total of Hid per lb. and t-> appropriate the balance to depreciation off our properties account. Your directors do not on this occasion recommend paying any dividend on share capital, as they consider it more advisable in the interests of the Company to write down the value of the properties, owing to the increased competition for milk in the district. The quality of oui butter has again been good, and graded well, and reflects credit on the efforts of the managers and staff in the interests of the Company. During the year we havve installed at each factory a new combined churn and butter worker, an extra cream vat at Konini, and improved and enlarged separatoi bowls at two of uur skimming stations. - We intend very shortly installing another large churn at the Konini factory, to cope effieienty with tha large supply there, and probably also shall place a larger bowl at the Mukomako creamery. You will be called upon to elect two directors in place of Mr H. Dajsh, who resigned his seat on 31st ultimo and does not seek reelection, and Mr M. Galvin, whoretires by rotation and ofEVrs himsel for re-election. Mr H. Hirst is also nominated for a seat on the Hoqrd. The retiring auditor, Mr Geo. Moore, offers himself for reelec'io'J." I
