OPIUM DENS.
MOVEMENT FOR REFORM. Received August 16, 8.40 a.m. SAN FRANCISCO, August 15. The Chinese declare that the aix companies who are practically the governors of Chinatown, in San Francisco, urge the city authorities to suppress the guides conducting visitors thither. The guides, they declare, maintain opium dens, and pay the Chinese to smoke opium in order to enhance the valus of their services, and they promise that the offensive features will disappear if the guides are suppressed.
