CRETAN MINISTRY RESIGNS. "GREEK* FLAG STILL FLYING. United Press Asaoeiation-By Elcotrio Telegrapn Copyright. Received August 16, 8.25 a.m. LONDON, august 15. According to reports recieved here from Canea. the Cretan Government intimates Us resignation, owing to the failure of its efforts to persuade the military authorities to lower the Greek flag in the Canea fortress More warships have baen ordered to Crete, with instructions to remove the flag unless the Cretans meantime remove it. The Greek newspapers unanimously urge the Cretans to respect the wishes of the Powers.
MUTINY SPREADING. Received August 16, 10.20 p.m. LONDON, August 16. The Greek officers commanding t\e Cretan Milicin were recently hooted and expelled from their quarters when they endeavoured to prevent the hoisting of the Greek Army flag. The mutiny instigated by the Revolutionary leaders is spreading to other posts. The protecting lowers thre atento re-occupy the island.
