WEDDING.

TAPLIN—JONES.

On Wednesday afterno-jn, August 4th, a pretty welding was celebrated at the Holy Trinity Church, Stratford, the contracting parties being Miss Kate Jones, second daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Jones, of, Stratford, and Mr A. J. Taplin, eldest son of Mr J. Taplin, of Mas-tei-ton. The bride, who was given away by hsr father, looked handsome in a beautiful embroidered Empire gown trimmed with white lace in sertion, with tulle veil and orange blossoms. She carried a handsome bouquet. Jones and Ruby sisters of the bride, were the bridesmaids. They wore dresses of cream silk muslin made in semi-Em-pire style with violet sashes and white chiffon hats trimmed with violet. They each carried a basket of violets Mr W. Taplin, of Masterton, was best man. After the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. H. A. Favel. a large number of guests sat down to a sumptuous wedding breakfast at the residence of the bride's parents. The usual toasts were honoured and felicitous speeches made, the hearty good wishes of those present being extended to> Mr and Mrs Tapln for their future welfare. The bride and bridegroom left by j the afternoon train for Wanganui, the bride's travelling drass being a | navy blue costume.
