STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual fortnightly sale at their Master.ton yards yesterday, when they offered only a small yarding of both sheep and cattle. Bidding throuhgout was rather dull but they succeeded in practically making a total clearance. They quote. Two and 4-tooth wethers, 143 8d; fat ewes, lis 4d to lis lOd; f.m. ewes in lamb, 12s 3d to 13s; 2-tooth ewes in lamb, 12s 6d; hoggets, lis; springing heifers, £4 2s Gd to £4 17s 6d; springing cows, £3 5s to £4 16s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report at their fortnightly stock sale yesterday as follows:—The yarding in sheep was confined to ewes in lamb and hoggets, no fats offering. The stock being good, we had no difficulty in effecting a clearance at sound rates. In cattle, the entries were chiefly dairy stock. Any good cows c\r heifers close to profit met with a ready shlts, but all backward sort were neglected. Extra good ewes in lamb made 17s; others, 13s; poor class, 6s SJ to 8a; best hoggets, extra good, lis 4d; good, 10s 6d; oJjer, 6s 4d to 8s fid. Dairy cows, £4 to £5 12s 6d; heifer?, 70s to 100s; fat cows, medium, £4 to £4 10s.
