A THRILLING EXPERIENCE.
Received August 6, 12.45 a.m. SYDNEY, August 5. • The tug Irreatible had a thrilling experience off Newcastle while towing tha barque Antiope. A sudden gale arose with tremendous seas. The Antiope, carrying considerable sail raced away and swung the tug round and buried her under the sea almost to the funnel with stern under. She was on the point of capsizing when the mate with a hatchet severed the Fine. The tug then righted herself, and reached Newcastle without the Antiope.
