NEW-ZEALAND RUGBY UNION.
By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, August 6. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met to-night. The suspension imposed by the West Coast Union on players for fighting and using bad larguage were endorsed. The Hawke's Bay Union is required to bend particulars concerning the suspension of a player till the end of I'he season for appsaring on the field under the influence of liquor; ' The Ahuriri Club's appeal against five years' suspension of a member by trie Hawke's Bay Union for striking a player, using bad language, and assaulting the referee, was dismissed, but the Union will bd asked to reconsider the matter with a view of reducing psnalty. A letter from the English Union regarding the proposed alterations in the laws of the game stated that the Home Unions had been asked to join in the conference with the colonial Unions on the matter. The Scotch and Irish Unions were walling to discuss the mitter with the other Home Unions, but not with the colonials. J Wales suggested that the question of a conference be discussed by the International Board. The English Union wou}d bring the matter before the International Board. In the meantime it would be unwise to sane the proposed alterations.
