Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Tuesday was 18 points. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 3. The following is Rev- D. C. Bates' weather forecast Moderate to strong westerly winds, and changeable weather probable north of New Plymouth and Napier, and northerly wind strong to gala with rain probable elsewhere; conditions are very unsettled in the South, and a tempor-. ary rise in the barometer is expected there shortly with cold and damp weather.
