The "Daily Express" stated that Captian Scott has completed plans for a fresh expedition to the South Pole in 1910. The finances of the expedition are practically arranged. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, August 2. With reference to the cable message concerning polar exploration, Mr 0. R. Ford, who was>si member of Mr Scott's previous expedition, states tnat some time ago he received a communication from Mr Scott, asking if he would join a fresh expedition, and if not if he would act a< agent for the expedition in Christchurch. Mr Ford replied stating that he did not intend to go to the Antarctic again, and that he felt that Mr J. J. Kinsey, who was New Zealand agent for Lieutenant Shackleton's expedition, would be a more suitable representative in the Doimnion. Mr Scott stated in his communication that it was intended to get practically all the stores in New Zealand, Mr Ford says that he understands that up to the time of Lieutenant .Shackleton's return a fresh expedition had been almost abandoned on account of the difficulty in obtaining the necessary funds. He thinks Lieutenant Shackleton's success has given an impetus to the movement, and has resulted in the collection of sufficient funds.
