Monday. The annual meeting of the members of the Taratahi-Carterton Racing Club was held on Satuiday, when the balance sheet was adopted on the motion of the President, Mr H. R. Bunny. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr W. C. Buchanan, M.P.; President, Mr H. R. Bunny; Vice-Presidents, Msesrs H. Judd, and H. H. Wolters; Stewards, Messrs W. Howard Br.oth, A. Daysh, L. Nix, J. G. Oates, T. Ray, and C. Reid; treasurer, MrG.W. Deller; Clerk of Scales, Mr H. MilPhee; timekeeper, Mr J. M. Lighftoot; auditors, Messrs J. Moncrieff and N. J. Chapman; hon. sureeons, Drs Bey, Johnston and Smyth; Ground Committed, Mesrss T. Hay, H. Judd, A. Daysh, W. J. Denbee, and J. Hodder. Three new members were elected.
Last evening l heavy rain commenced fallinc heru, and this morning all low-lying land wns under water. At the time of writing the weather shows no prospect of clearing. The bachelors of Clarevilie purpose holding a dance on Thursday evening next.
