MASTERTON STOCK SALE HEPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report at their fortnightly stock sale yesterday:—The yarding in sheep, though not heavy, embraced all classes, and lots met with a ready sale, a clearance under the hammer .being made, the tone of the market being good all through. In cattle, our entries were confined to cow beef and dairy stock. Some good quality in each class offered, and we were enabled to make ready sale 3 of all offering. Pat wethers made 14s fid for heavy, and 14a and 13a 9d for lighter sorts; stores, 13s 6d; bust fat ewes, 13s 4d; others, 12a 9d; ewes in lamb, medium 10s to lis; culls, 6s to 9s; hoggets, 9s 9d. Cow beet, £4 7s 6d to £4 10s; heifers, £4 to £4 .10s; dairy heifers, small £2 15s. In dairy cows, one special line made £7 ss. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual fortnightly sale at their Masterton Yards yesterday, when they submitted a fair catalogue of sheep. Bidding throughout the sale for good class of sheep was keen, and at the close of the day we succeeded in quitting the whole yarding. We quote as follows:—Four year ewes in lamb to Southdown rams, up to 17510d;2 tooth to f.m. ewes in lamb, 5s 7d to 9s 4d and lis lOd; 2 tooth wethers, 10s id to lis lOd.
