MYSTERIOUS LIGHT. By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, July 26. Some little time ago excitement was created in the country by a report that a mysterious light had been seen at night near Stirling, moving about in such a manner as to give the impression that something in the nature of an airship roust be manoeuvring air.ongst the hills. Information has now been received from Kelso that at noon on Friday school children and others beheld in the air a strange machine, which they described as shaped like a boat, with what seemed like the figure of a man seated in it. The "airship" approached from the direction of the Blue Mountains, circled high over the school, and then disappeared in the direction whence it came. To-day it is reported that the mysterious visitor was aeain seen on Saturday evening by several people. INVEKCARGILL INTERESTED. AN ASBUKD SUPPOSITION. By Telegraph—Press Association. INVERCARGILL. July 27. There is much local speculation in regard to the mysterious light that has been seen in the sky. The "Southland News" reports that the light was seen here on both Saturday and Sunday night, and t'.ie paper publishes a column stcy, suggesting that the light was that of an airship sent to reonnoitre by Ihe German yacht Seestern, which has not baen heard of recently.
