HOCKEY.
At Carterton, on 'Saturday last St. Matthew's hockey team met and were defeated by Dalefield by 8 goals to 6 goals. For the winners A. J. Fisher (4) and Tunicilffe (4) were the scorers, and for St. Mattnew's, Hatch (2), Boyd (2), and Sutton (2) scored. At Carterton, in an "Age Cud" match under the auspices of the"„Wairarapa Ladies' Hockey Association, Masterton High School defeated Kiwi (Dalefield) by 2 goals to nil. Misses M. Reid and E. Dagg were the scorers. The School played brilliantly inthe second spell, and overran their opponents.' Mr C. Carley was referee.
