SEVERE EARTHQUAKE.
ATTRIBUTED TO SUBMARINE ERUPTION. SYDNEY, July 24. The steamer Tambo, which has arrived here frn'm the Islands, reports that a severe shock of earthquake was felt in the New Hebrides on June 27th. The Tambo vibrated violently from stem to stern. The Islanders attribute the shock to a submarine eruption. No serious damage was done on shore.
