THE CADET FORCE.
CHANGES IN TRAINING AND ] ADMINISTRATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, July* 25. The Government has decided to make some changes in the training and administration of the Public School Cadet Force. Money hitherto spent for rail and coach fares for cadets to travel to parades, competitions, etc., in future to be spent in bonuses to members of the permanent force, and district staffs in consideration of their giving instruction where possible, the former in the cities and the latter in country districts. The construction of miniature rifle ranges is to be encouraged. Boards, school committees and other bodies will be subsidised £1 for £1 up to an amount to be,*determined in each approved case for these ranges. A special .22 miniature rifle will be provided, and special competitions arranged. This will enable district high school and other senior cadet corps to have a greater proportion of 310 riflea issued to them than they now have.
