ASSISTED IMMIGRATION.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 21. The Government has decided to stop all assisted immigration for the present. "Thoae whom we have contracted to bring out will be assisted in accordance with the Government's undertaking," said the Acting Premier, to-day, "and persons nominated before the decision was made,will not be interfered with, but during the winter months we will not assist any more immigrants, for that is a bad time to arrive, not only because of climatic conditions but also lack of employment."
