HOCKEY.
WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wairarapa Hockey Association was held at Carterton last evening. There were*present:— Messrs E. R. B. Daniell '(chairman), W. Fisher, A. J. Fisher, W. Minett, A. C. Pragnell. The following fixtures were drawn up:— July 22nd —Masterton v. Carterton Seniors, at Greytbwb. July 29th— Five-Aside Tournament,; at 'Carterton; Senior and Junior*. August sth—Cartertonv., J&astertori Seniors, Missterton,, . 1 '- ' August 12th —Representative team will commence their tour, playing Dannevirke Sub-Association, at Dannevirke; Waipawa Sub-Associ-ation, at Waipawa; and HawkG's Bay Association, at Napier. Nominations for ' the Tournament will close on Saturday, July 24th. The Juniors will play for the Bannin Banner, which is to be won three times in succession or four times at intervals. It was decided to hold the annual re-union and smoke concert at Carterton, af [Five-Aside Tournament.
The following ar9 the teams to play at Grey town onJ.-Thursday next: —Carterton—Goal, J. [Fisher; Fullbacks Tunnicliffe; halves, S. Sievers, "Nugget" Ellis, Eagle; forwards, W. Fisher, A. J. Wisher, Reid, King and Tunnicliffe. Masterton —Goal,' H. HaIi;(W.F.C.A.); fullbacks, A. Dixon (Knpx), C. Smith (W.F.C.A.) ;halves, L. Nicol (Knox), G. Scrimgeour (W.F.C.A.), N. Boyd (Knox); forwards, J. Gray (Knox), W. Minett (W.F.C.A.), F. Griffiths (Knox), A. C. Pragnell (W.F.C.A.), and E. J. Clarke (Knox). Any player who cannot make the trip is requested to communicate with the secretary of the Association, Mr A. C. Pragnell.
The following is the RamberS ; team to play Kia Toa, at Masterton, on Thursday |next:—Misses F. Mite lar, R. Evans, J. Scott, M. O'Toole,* M. McCalmont, |K. O'Leary, E. Kyle, N. O'Leary, C. Easthope, L. Reid, F. Duggan. Emergency: Miss Curry. The following is the Wellington Junior representative team to play Wairarapa Junior representatives:— Goal, Arnold; backs, Gayfield, Quinn; halves, .Gill, Campbell, forwards, Turner, Hall, Oram, Ryan, Mackenzie. The Huia Hockey Club will hold a practice on Wednesday morning at 6.30 o'clock. The Knox Junoir A and B teams for the Five-Aside Tournament &ill play a match on the Ramblers' ground, at the Showgrounds on -Thursday, commencing at 2 o'clock sharp. On Saturday next a team of local hockey enthusiasts will journey to Cartel ton to play a Carterton Saturday team. The drag will leave at 1 p.m. sharp.
