Hy Telegraph—-Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, July 17. A report on reliable but unofficial authority reached town to-night that the Hadley Petroleum Co. had struck oil this evening, in the bore on Carrington Koad. The show of oil at the Oil and Freehold Company's bore is improving, .and the daily flow from the Taranaki Petroleum Company's No. 2 bore shows no signs of diminishing. The indications of the permanency of the industry has never been so promising.
