The death occurred at Clive of Mr Eldred Beck, a highly-respected resident of Hawke's Bay, of '4O years' standing. The deceased was at one time a partner with Sir Geo. Whitmore in a station on the Fast Coast. An old resident of Johnsonville, Mrs Janet Milne May. died on Saturday morning, aged 73 years. She came to New Zealanri'with her husband, the late Mr John May, from Pet2rhead, Scotland, in 1886. The family consists of Mr Alexander May, of Johnsonville, Mendames John Henderson (Wellington), T. and C. Bould. G. Wybourne and Miss May, all of John- | sonville.
