WINDFALL FOR MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
An important statement was made at the meeting of farmers held at Masterton, on Saturday, when the saleyards site was discussed. Mr W. Perry, of Penrose, Chairman of the Solway Syndicate, stated that it was the intention of the syndicate to make a donation to the Masterton A. and P. Association of all the profits derived from the sale of the sections in the estate. Mr Perry said he was making a personal statement to this effect, but believed that his co-part-ners in the syndicate would be willing to act on what he said. The announcement was received by the crowded meeting with loud applause. A Wairarapa Age reporter, speaking to a member of the A. and P. Association after the meeting, learnt that the Association stool to benefit to the amount of £3OO Dy the disposal of the saJayards site alone.
