NEW ZEALAND LABOUR PARTY.
Probably as a result of the troubles of the Christchurch Trades Council, and no doubt for other reasons, prominent unionists have set on fuot
a movement to form a New Zealand Labour Party. The first step was taken at a meeting of unionists at Christchurch on Thursday evening, a committee being set up to arrange for a public meeting to discuss the matter. Some of the movers say that the Liberal Labour Alliance is no longer effective for the workers whose interests the Government is neglecting, and they hope to found a Labour Party somewhat on the lines of the Australian party.
