THE WRECK OF THE ERROL.
STATEMENT BY A PASSENGER ON THE SUVA.. Received' July 16,10*55 a.m. ADELAIDE, July 16. A passenger by the steamer:' Suva, which passed, the JWiddleton Keef on 27th June, and who, on a previous voyage, had photographed the wreck of the Annasona, saw on the last occasion what he took to be another wreck on the reefi. He called the captain's attention to it, butth&latter said it was an old wreck, and. that sometimes at low water, tha two were visible.
Lawrence, who was the only man found alive on the return of. Palmer and his party, who had to the main reef to search for water, stated that the steamer Suva passed shortly after the wreck,, but did, not; see the castaways. Had she done so the woman and children would have been saved, and seven others. The wreck* however, occurred on the 18th„and the Suva passed-.on the 27th.. Palmar said his raft party had been on the reef four days when they saw the steamc pass.
