CARTERTON NEWS.
(From Our Resident Reported. ' Friday. One of the finest displays of meat seen yi Carterton for some time was on view this evening at the establishment of Mr F. Stempa, in High street. The display included all kinds of prima iipe'at, while a large and dainty variety of small goods were on view. The display was a credit to Mr Stempa and his staff. The local United Friendly Societies' Council has been advised hv 'h" 1 trustees of the South Waimnnn Hospital that they are prpmr°d to keep a bed in the Hospital for the members of Friendly Scietie* in Carterton for the sum of £2O oer year, provided that such a me-nher is suffering from an accident, and that the arrangements is terminable in one year's notice from either party. The Council will meet on Tuesday evening to consider the matter.
