THE PRICE OF GAS.
To the Editor. Sir, —In a footnote appended to a letter appearing in your columns of yesterday you state that "the prica of gas has not been advanced." Well, how do you account for the following:—Up to last month the discount was £33 6s 8d or 4d per 100 ft, and it is new £25 per cent or 3d per 100 ft. I have receipts to show this, and a reference to the municipal books will bear me out. The gas officials ha"e probably a method of their own in assessing the consumers' indebtedness, for the discount last month and the previous one are not calculated on the same babis.- I am, etc., JOSEPH CULLEN. Masterton July 15th, 1909. (The price of gas has not been raised, neither has there been any alteration in the rate of discount. Several incorrect accounts, however, aopear to have been issued this month. Our corresponded should address himself to the municipal authorities concerned. —Ed. W.A.)
