STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale at their Masterton yards yesterday, when they submitted for sale a fair catalogue of sheep and cattle, although the latter did not come forward up to advertised numbers. They report having effected a total clearance at satisfactory prices, with the exception of one line of cattle. They quote as follows:—Two tooth fat and forward wethers, I3s Id; 2 tooth wethers, 10s lOd; ewes in lamb to Southdown

rams, 14s sd; f.m. ewes in lamb, 7s 6d; tat heifers, £4s 6d; fat eows, £4 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report on their fortnightly stock sale yesterday as follows Our yarding in sheep were chiefly ewes in lamb, no hoggets offering. The quality of the ewes being good, we were enabled to make ready sales, one special line of extra good ewes, mostly 4 and 6 tooth, reaching 18s, the highest figure obtained this season. Other ewes, ?.m., 13s to to 14s; aged sorts, 6s. In cattle the entries were mostly beef and dairy ?tock, every pan with one exception finding a ready market. For best beef cows and heifers we made £4 10s; others, £4 to £4 7s 6d; for ward cows, 60s; 18-mos heifers, 42-; extra good dairy cows, close to profit. £7 8s; others, calving later, £4 to £5.
