MASTERTON WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALES.

The Wairarapa Farmers' and Cooperative Association, Ltd., and Messrs Dalgety and Co. report as as follows:—We held our monthly sale of wool, skin and hides yesterday, offering 60 bales, 100 bags of wool, 1,500 sheepskins, 200 hides and a quantity of horsehair, tallow and rabbitskins. There was an excellent attendance of buyers, and competition was very brisk at current rates, which are slightly lower than our previous sale. We quote: Wool in bales, fleece 6d, lambs s£d, crutchings ojd to G|d, crutchings (seedy) 3Jd to 3fd, locks 2|d, pieces 3£d, dead wool sfd to 6|d; in bags, fleece 2d to 6Jd, lambs (seedy) 2|d, crutchings 4Jd to 42d, crutchings (seedy) 2£d, locks 2d, dead wool s£d to Sheepskins: Crossbred sfd to 6£d, crossbred (fine) 7d, crossbred (seedy) 3Jd, half wools 4i£d to s|d, dead 42d. hoggets 3Jd to crossbred (part green) 3s 3d to ss, pelts ljd to 4}d. Hides: Ox 4d to sgd, slippy 3d to 3f<J, bull (slippy) 3gd, cow 4gd to 51 d, slippy "3d to 31d, yearling 5Jd, steer 45d, calf B|d to 83d, caif, slippy 3Jd, calf, cut 6gd. Tallow: In tins 16s 3d to 18s 3d, in bags 14s 3d. Horsehair: Is 3£d # Our next sale will be held on Wednesday, August 25th, 1909. Messrs Lsvin an] Cj., Ltd. report as follows:—We held our monthly sale of wool, skins, hides, talow, etc, yesterday, when we offered 100 bales, and 90 bags wool, 2,500 sheepskins, 140 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow, horsehair and rabbitskins. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding throughout was keen, though both wool and skins showed an easier tendency owing to the decline in London. Wool: We had a large entry of crutchings which showed aJd to ijtd fall. We quote: Crossbred fleece 5d to lambs 6d to 7d, superior crutchings 4|d to s hi, medium, crutchings 4d to 4fd, inferior crutchings 3d to 4d, pieces and bellies 2d to 4d, locks l£d to 3d. Skins: Fine crossbred 6d to 7d, erossbreds 6d to 7d, daad skins 3d to s£d, dead hoggets 4d to ssd, short wools 4d to sd, dry pelts 2J<d, green skins 5s 5d Tallow : Parcels in shipping order £2O, tins 17s to 18s, rough fat £lO to £ls. Horse hair: Is to Is 4d per lb. Rabb itskins: lOd per lb. Hides: Ox and cow hid'3H 4kl to 4Jd, calfskins to Bid. Our next sale will be held on August 25th.
