ST. PATRICK'S DAY SPORTS ASSOCIATION.
PRESIDENT'S REPORT. The following is the President's report for year ended June 30th, 1909:—Your Committee having again to express their regret that owing to the very unfavourable weather on St. Patrick's Day they were compelled to abandon their sports meeting, which naturally resulted in a heavy loss, the whole of the amount collected from members' subscriptions being absorbed in expenses incurred in connection with the sports meeting. This being the third year in succession our sports meeting has been a failure owing to the weather, your Committee propose to consult you on the question of altering the date of the meeting, the name of the Association, and the amount of the annual subscription. During the past year your Committee have held two socials, one in September, 1908, and one on St. Patrick's Day, March, 1909, both of which were very successful, and resulted in a profit to the Association of £l9 18s 2d, for which we have mainly to thank the ladies who arranged the supper and gave us their very valuable assistance and advice. We have also to thank those member who also gave us their time and labour gratuitously in connection with the socials, and the preparation of the grounds for the sports, and Messrs R. Barclay, J. O'Meara, Ulic Shannon and J. Brown for donations. A large amount is outstanding from members for subscriptions, and we hope to see this entirely wiped out during the coming year.
