OVER-RIDING IN THE TRAIN.
By Telegraph—Press "Association. DUNEDIN, July 2. At the Police Court this morning, seven persons were charged that having paid fares on the railway from Dunedin to Burnside, they did not quit the carriage on arriving at their destination, but went to Abbotsford, a mile further on. The Department, having reason to suspect that the practice was being carried on, a special check was made, with the result that several persons were found over-riding their destination. All seven defendants pleaded guilty. Two were fined, and the other cases were adjourned for further evidence.
